Computational Scientist at Pfizer Worldwide Research, Development and Medical
The Emerging Science & Innovation unit at Pfizer Worldwide Research, Development and Medical (ES&I, WRDM) is seeking a passionate scientist with strong computational skills for a 2-year project aimed at integrative omics for target discovery in autoimmune disease.
In this role you will join an energetic team based in Stockholm at the Hagastaden and Karolinska Institutet campus with the overarching goal of supporting the development of next-generation treatments in autoimmune disorders.


In more detail, you will be responsible for planning and conducting biostatistical and bioinformatic analyses across deeply phenotyped internal and external human patient datasets. You will work alongside a team of geneticists and biologists locally and a wider team of global colleagues.
The successful candidate is one who is passionate about science, innovation, effectively trouble shoots challenges, assumes personal accountability, and thrives in a team environment. To be successful in this role we think you need a background in Computational Science, Biostatistics, Genetics, Epidemiology or similar academic discipline.


Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute and communicate analysis based on integrative omics studies in large biobank studies and internal clinical trials
Support the team with computational drug discovery strategies
Support identification of new collaborative opportunities in the area of autoimmune disorders
To work closely with computational scientists in Target Sciences and the Systems Immunology team
To liaise with other key stakeholders in genetics, biology, chemistry, DMPK, safety, clinical) and outside Pfizer (e.g., public/private consortia, CROs, biotech partners, academic investigators).
Be a highly effective communicator at daily work in writing documents and in presentations
Follow standard operating procedures to assure compliance and integrity



Basic Qualifications
Completed PhD in Computational Science, Biostatistics, Genetics, Epidemiology or similar discipline
A track record of peer reviewed published papers
Documented skills in R, Python, SAS, STATA or other statistics/programming package
Highly effective in both written and verbal communications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
A high level of integrity and desire to develop transformational medicines that bring benefit to patients
Strong self-motivation

The Supply Chain Quality Manager / Responsible Person establishes and maintains an appropriate and sustainable Product Quality System and Quality Culture at the Swedish Pfizer Country Office so that compliance with Pfizer and Regulatory authority expectations and protection of Pfizer patients/customers from any product quality risk is ensured.

You will be part of a team of colleagues working together on quality strategy and quality systems, covering all GDP areas such as deviation handling, CAPAs, self-inspections/audits, Change Control, risk management, product distribution, third-party management, as well as product complaints/defects/recalls.

Your days will be a lot about networking. Acting as main point of contact for the investigation and resolution of all product quality issues discovered or originating in the Swedish Country Office, working with many stakeholders within Sweden, globally and other local regulatory authorities.

Through your expertise and extensive knowledge, you will be able to foster a culture that promotes innovation and thrives on doing better for patients and healthcare.

This is the role:
Maintain and support Sweden’s product quality management system.
Implement all applicable Global procedures within the Pfizer Country Office (PCO).
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Quality Management System (QMS), evaluate and highlight any significant trends and identify actions.
Notify management of significant concerns or repeated deviations that occur within the Quality Management System and all issues potentially affecting marketed product.
Ensure regular quality management reviews are conducted for continuous improvement.
Lead the preparation and coordination of Product Quality and Good Distribution practice audits and inspections of the PCO.
Contact local regulatory authorities in response to product quality issues.
Oversee the management of product quality complaints that originate in the Swedish market and ensure compliance with global procedure.
Oversee the local batch disposition process for release of products for distribution to the Swedish market.
Implement an effective quality management process for Pfizer's logistic service provider who distributes Pfizer products in the Swedish market.
Work collaboratively with the Swedish business and platform lines to support business goals and business critical processes.



Your profile
You hold a Pharmacy degree, at least 160 hp – four years of full-time studies
You have eligibility as a Responsible Person
Several years of experience in the field of product quality and distribution of medical products from pharmaceutical healthcare industries
Strong knowledge of the European GDP guidelines and related local regulations
Full written and verbal communication skills in Swedish and English
You bring a strong understanding of quality systems and compliance, as well as strong negotiation skills
Experience with Board of Health communications and hosting external inspections
Ability to deliver positive and clear communications at any level of the organization as well as with external authorities

HOW WE IMPACT PATIENTS
The Director for Policy & Public Affairs will lead our strategic engagement with government stakeholders to shape a pro-innovation, pro-patient environment. The role holder will develop and execute external policy and engagement plans in collaboration with the Country Manager and Country Medical Director.
Also, you will coordinate all Corporate Affairs (Policy & Public Affairs, External Comms, Patient Advocacy) activities and represent the function on the Pfizer Sweden Leadership Team. This is a central role in leveraging Pfizer’s external profile, strengthening our company reputation, and advancing business goals.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The key responsibilities in this role include:


Coordinate all Corporate Affairs activities and represent the function on the Pfizer Sweden Leadership Team
Analyze the policy environment and provide strategic counsel to the highest level of the business (operating plan, business reviews, etc.)
Develop and execute comprehensive external public affairs initiatives that contribute to business goals
Direct and lead engagement with key policy makers and influencers
Represent Pfizer in key external forums as well as coordinate our engagement with trade / business associations
Develop C-Suite briefing materials with goals and metrics
Coordinate with Pfizer’s Brussels office to manage EU Policy landscape
Maintain strict compliance with all applicable policies and laws, especially those related to interactions with government officials.

WHAT WE EXPECT
Technical skills & education:


Advanced degree required, preferably in law, business, public health, or international policy
Minimum 15 years’ experience in Sweden public policy, government relations, public/corporate affairs/ legal affairs, with minimum 10 years’ experience in health care
Exceptional understanding of the role of public affairs and policy in driving business goals, and a deep understanding of public policymaking process in Sweden
Highly networked in the external environment including with government and key stakeholders, with an outstanding ability to develop relationships with key constituencies
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective, innovative, and practical public affairs and policy solutions and comprehensive plans that deliver results
Highly skilled at anticipating, identifying, and addressing emerging issues and related risks that could impact Pfizer's business in Sweden
Fluency in Swedish and English with outstanding oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop C-Suite communication and convey relevant information at the right time and with the proper context
